Sandra Pranjić (Sfumato make up) is an expert Make-Up Artist & Hairstylist of fifteen years, who specializes in editorial and fashion media, red carpet events, TV and commercial photoshoots and is currently based in Austria. Alongside working in the fashion business, she found her niche in luxury and destination weddings, where she built one of the biggest bridal styling teams in Slovenia - she and her team cover around 60 weddings per year. First self-taught, she decided to go to London to study at AOFM (The Academy of Freelance Makeup), where she completed her Total Pro Creative Specialist Certificate.
Her ability to enhance natural beauty in every person, her modern approach to makeup and easy going personality makes her one of the most sought-after makeup artists in the area. She is available in the region of Austria, Slovenia, Italy and Croatia, but also loves to travel all over the world with her clients, who seek out her radiant approach.
So nice to meet you
It actually took a world economic crisis in 2008, a total collapse of a construction industry (and some big B****, that she already grew in engineering world!), to make her finally say:
"If not now, when?"
Taking a leap of faith with pursuing her passion, she moved to London, completed her makeup certificate and started doing makeup full time. When asked about her signature make up style, she always likes to point out fresh skin, clean lines and detail oriented beauty. More than a decade in the business, it's definitely been a thrilling, if exhausting, rise.
"Concealer and coffee," she jokes, "are my best friends."
p.s. You totally read that with Morgan Freeman's voice, didn't you? :D
All stories start somewhere and Sandra's should probably start with a "Since I was a child, I've always searched through my mum's makeup drawer, explored the amazing world of colours, while playing grown up and dreamt of becoming a makeup artist." Sorry to disappoint you, that wasn't her dream. If you must know, she wanted to become a doctor!
Nevertheless, art was always her form of escapism, as a little girl she would spend hours and hours alone in her room, drawing interesting faces, exploring form, color combinations and symmetry. However, art would always be considered just a hobby. Definitely not something that could be a serious career. That is why she went to study construction engineering! Plot twist! So much about that medical school! Whenever she wasn't crushing those statics formulas of infrastructures in classes, she was working on her student job in retail, as a makeup artist and skin care consultant. It is there where she got sucked in the world of luxury brands, learned about different types of skin and their problems, not to mention all the magic potions with exciting skincare ingredients. There was always something new in the beauty world! When she was doing make up for her clients, she quickly noticed that doing makeup on faces is not much different from drawing and painting - she was hooked. Upon completing her studies in construction engineering she worked for a few years in the industry, but the creative spirit did not give in. LISTEN! One does not just invest so many years, sweat and tears in a serious career of a construction engineer, only to quit everything and follow their silly dreams!

Picks her makeup combinations carefully, so that they don't distract from her styling. Life is too busy for her to waste it on makeup - a messy bun and a bit of vaseline on lips and cheeks will do. But she does have 50 nude lipsticks, because they "truly are all different!"
Believes that if you give a woman the right shoes, she can conquer the world. If they are pared with a red lipstick, of course. And her red is definitely RUBY WOO from MAC - because that's a classic, that every woman should own.
Black smokey eyes - YES! Deep burgundy lips - YES! Contouring - 3x YES! Saying that you LOVE makeup, is an understatement, you LIVE makeup! Watching endless tutorials and following beauty influencer drama on YouTube, because ... well, how could you not? You know all the names of MAC lipsticks by heart and look with disgust at the beauty consultants, when they ask you "if you need help with anything!" As if!
